About the Show

Recent reports from the U.S. Census Bureau found people flooding out of cities in a search for cheaper housing. But economist Joe Cortright suggests there is another important side to the story. Joe is an economist and principal of Impresa Consulting in Portland.

Smart City also talks to Steve Guttman of Flexcar about a fast-growing alternative to car ownership. Steve is in charge of national business development for Flexcar, which was purchased last year by Steve Case, founder of AOL.

Plus, Steve Goldsmith and Sunny Schwartz will tell us about RSVP, an Innovation in Government Award winner in San Francisco that is reducing the number of violent prisoners returning to jail for a second or even a third time.

Citizens on the move...all that and more, this week on Smart City.
