Simon Anholt is Chairman of Earthspeak, a strategic consultancy which advises governments and multi-national corporations. One of the UKÕs best known international branding and marketing thinkers, Simon recently served as guest editor of the Journal of Brand Management's special issue on Nation Branding. The Economist calls him "one of the most influential strategists and consultants for companies seeking to take their brands into the global market place."

Self Magazine has just announced its annual "Healthiest Cities for Women" list of cities. This rating, like so many, has generated a lot of press for the winners and losers. For the best performing cities, such lists provide an image boost. For the cities that rank at the bottom, it's nothing but bad news.
