Howard Rheingold is one of the world's foremost authorities on the social implications of technology. One of the creators and former founding executive editor of HotWired, he has served as editor of The Whole Earth Review and on-line host of the legendary Well. His new book, "Smart Mobs," he explores the future of mobile communications and how people will use it to transform themselves, their communities and their institutions.

When he was 24, Shane Igoe was named head of new media operations at F.A.O. Schwarz. He turned the Internet into the toy retailerÕs second highest producing "store." Three years later, he joined Oxygen Media where his work won the prestigious Ad Council Award, the first ever given to a Web site. His latest venture is Youie, where he creates and distributes wireless infotainment.
