Dr. Barry Glassner is the author ofÊ"Culture of Fear: Why Americans Are Afraid of the Wrong Things,"Êpublished by Basic Books. It was named a "Best Book of the Year" by Knight-Ridder newspapers and by the Los Angeles Times Book Review. He is Professor of Sociology at the University of Southern California. He is the author of seven books on contemporary social issues, and his writing appears in magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune.
