Gregory Beck is a New York-based architect specializing in environments that combine media technology and narrative. He is also the co-director of the Urban Narratives Design Research Group. It's a joint project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of its Media Lab and the Department of Architecture Consortium.
Greg designed the simulation theater attraction at Luxor Las Vegas, corporate attractions for the People Magazine Group and Lockheed Martin, and retail projects for Swatch. He is the former director of architecture for Sony New Technologies. An assistant professor at the Pratt Institute, he is forming a graduate-level program in entertainment design, the first of its kind in the United States.
34 North 118 West is a wireless art project on display in downtown Los Angeles. This location-based media project uses notebook computers, global positioning systems, images and sound and it is the creation of Jeff Knowlton, Naomi Spellman, and Jeremy Hight.
Jeff Knowlton shows online and in galleries and symposiums internationally. He is a recipient of a New Forms Initiative Grant funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rockefeller Foundation. Jeff teaches at the Art Institute of Los Angeles and Antelope Valley College.
Naomi Spellman is a transmedia artist whose work includes networked art, video and interactive works, and graphic prints. She is currently running the "Camera to Computing" Program at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
Jeremy Hight is an internationally published writer and poet who has created numerous works for multimedia and for exhibition. A recent collaborative work "Hike Hike Hike" won Best Independant Animation at the New England Film Festival. He teaches Visual Communication for Multimedia at Mission College in Los Angeles.
