How secure is your job? It's a question you may be asking yourself after our interview this week with Katharine Mieszkowski. She is a senior writer for Salon.com and she warns that the move of jobs offshore is only beginning. Katharine covers technology, the Web and Silicon Valley. Her commentaries about the Internet have appeared on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered." In February, she'll be travelling to India to write about technology outsourcing in Bangalore.
We also talk with Mark Muro of Brookings about his new study on why the economies of some states are lagging, and what we can all learn from them. Mark is senior policy analyst in economic studies for The Brookings Institution, an independent, nonpartisan education and research organization based in Washington, D.C. He works with Brookings' Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy. He was formerly Senior Research Analyst at Morrison Institute for Public Policy in Tempe, Arizona.
