Americans have always been on the move - especially in the summer. But there are a couple of new trends about where people and jobs are moving that may surprise you.
Dr. William Frey is a demographer and sociologist who specializes in U.S. demographics. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy in Washington DC. He is also on the faculty of the University of Michigan Population Studies Center and Senior Fellow at the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, CA. He is a contributing editor to American Demographics magazine. He's been documenting the movement of African-Americans back to the South.
The global movement of jobs is the subject of Leanne Lachman's new study calledÊ"The New Exports: Office Jobs."ÊLeanne is an executive-in-residence at Columbia Business School and president of her own real estate consulting firm. She is a governor of the Urban Land Institute Foundation and the president of Lachman Associates LLC, an independent real estate consulting firm.
