Rebecca Anderson is Founder and Executive Director ofÊHandMade in America. She is powering a homegrown, handmade economic development revolution in Western North Carolina, and U.S. News and World Report recognized her groundbreaking work by naming her one of America's top visionaries.
As founder and Executive Director of HandMade In America Rebecca Anderson coordinates 15 major projects involving 3,500 citizens and more than 20 partnerships with local, regional and state organizations in Western North Carolina. She also serves as a consultant for heritage and cultural tourism and economic development projects related to arts and crafts.
In 2000, U.S. News and World Report named her as one of America's top ten visionaries for her work in community and civic development. Last year, Worth Magazine ranked HandMade In America as one of the top 24 arts non-profits in the United States that give "The biggest bang for your buck" and represent "the best of our country's culture."
Isabel Kriegel manages Boston Mayor Tom Menino's initiative to retain 20-34 Year-Olds in that city. It's calledÊOne in Three Boston, and it's the city's latest attempt to capitalize on its unique asset - an unusual number of bright young people, attracted to the city by its outstanding universities.
