Identified by Architectural Record magazine as one of five "Second Generation" New Urbanists, Doug Farr is Founding Principal of Farr Associates, an architecture and urban design firm in Chicago. The firm's work is focused on reducing urban sprawl, the revitalization of inner city neighborhoods, promoting Transit Oriented Development, preserving historically significant buildings and districts, and the long-term environmental impacts of design. Doug Farr currently serves on the Environmental Task Force of the Congress for New Urbanism, on the Chicago Partners for the American Dream in Homeownership, and as Chairman for the American Institute of Architecture Chicago Committee on the Environment.
Ned Conroy is Principal Planner for the Puget Sound Regional Council in Seattle. The Regional Council is an association of cities, towns, counties, ports, and state agencies that serves as a forum for developing policies and making decisions about regional growth and transportation issues in the four-county central Puget Sound region. The Council's mission is straightforward: "to preserve and enhance the quality of life in the central Puget Sound area."
